The Orient Loop is the ideal introduction for cyclists who want to experience the beauty of the Tramuntana without immediately tackling Sa Calobra. The route winds through villages, vineyards and olive groves – Mallorca at its most picturesque.

The centrepiece is the mountain village of Orient at 350 m, with its church and winding lanes providing the perfect rest stop. The return passes through Alaró with views of the famous table mountain of the same name.

Route character: Consistent gradients, light traffic, wide roads

Best season: Year-round; ideal November to March

Starting point: Consell or Santa Maria del Camí
